UK adequacy

These regulations only apply if you want your plugin to be able to transfer information to a location that is outside the United Kingdom (UK) or European Economic Area (EEA), and that has not been subject to an adequacy decision from the Information Commissioner's Office and/or the European Commission.

As of September 2026, the countries outside of the UK or EEA that have full UK adequacy are:

  • Andorra
  • Argentina
  • the Faroe Islands
  • Gibraltar
  • Guernsey
  • the Isle of Man
  • Israel
  • Jersey
  • New Zealand
  • Republic of Korea (South Korea)
  • Switzerland
  • Uruguay

And partial adequacy that is relevant to plugins has been granted to:

  • Canada
  • Japan

This list is not guaranteed to be up-to-date, the full list may be viewed here. Of particular note is that the USA is not included in this list, as its partial adequacy agreement is not relevant to plugins.

Adequacy exception

If your plugin does intend to send information to a country not listed above, then you must complete this form after submitting your plugin to Mod.io.

The password RS3API is required to access this form.
